I'm curious about this, everything I've been told about Amex is unless there is inaccurate information that they made their decision off of, they generally will not recon.

Personally I've recon'd with them several times and was never once successful. It went all the way to the exec office. But as always, YMMV so I'm curious to see what happens here.

I was denied initially for the Delta Gold Skymiles card. After 30+ mins on the phone with the recon CSR, they said they would submit to a supervisor.

7 days later I checked the app status again and it was approved.

A few months later I app'd for the Hilton HHonors card and approved instantly.

A simply recon phone call never hurts.

I called the recon dept and spoke to them and told them that I spent about 20k-25k a year using my platinum card and never missed a payment and they still didn't approve me...I will try again in a few months..
