If you don't mind your accounts being frozen temporarily while you send them the paperwork and all that, and don't care about the major privacy invasion, go for broke and ask for $60k. Why not if you don't care?

I'd be happy to read it. There is always something interesting. If you want to PM it instead of posting it here, feel free.

Not sure why they were ever freeze my account during a CLI review process. I've never heard of that happening.

And as far as the invasion of privacy, they already know where I live, where I work, how much money I make and have 25 years of historical purchase data on me. Not to mention a credit report when I successfully applied for the BCP card last week. I'm not sure what I could send them in my tax filings that they don't already know.

Since my high mark on my Platinum was $39k last year, I think I'll ask for at least $40k...maybe an even $50k.

Citi Thank You Preferred Visa ($9.5K)
Chase Sapphire Preferred ($7.5K)
US Bank Cash + Visa Signature ($7K)
Discover IT ($4K)

In that case, apply for the full $60k just to see what happens. With 25 years of history I doubt they'll even FR you.

I suppose the worst thing that could happen is them saying no. Well, "no" and "but we will do X amount".

So it's settled. I'll try for $60K in May. And if it actually works, they'll be a hell of a story to tell.

I was declined the 61 day increase, yet AmEx seems willing to give me any new card I want. Nick - hello from a fellow Pennsylvanian. *yinz*
