When you phone was reported lost / missing your ESN was blacklisted with the carrier. This is to make the phone useless to a thief.

You might as well be asking if it's legal to open a locked door with your credit card.

Which AmEx card gives purchase protection for loss? I have the Blue Cash Everyday card and the purchase protection covers theft but not loss.

I'm wondering the same thing here! I didn't even know Amex offered any theft/loss? protection....

Platinum does, not sure about others, but I think PRG does too.
