Is it too soon to apply for another Amex?

Postby creditpoop » Mon Feb 18, 2013 3:38 pm

I was recently approved for the Amex BSP and after using this card and sleeping on it, I have come to the conclusion that I should have went with the Amex PRG, which looks to suit my needs better. How bad would it look if I turned around and applied for the PRG after having just received my first AMEX?

I currently have a total of 5 credit cards to include the BSP. Any insight would be appreciated.

If your relationship is new then yes I'd wait about 6 months.
My Cards

Chase Freedom Visa Signature: $5.2K
Capital One Quicksilver Visa: $7.5K
Discover IT: $5.5K
Huntington Voice World Mastercard: $1.6K

In the garden indefinitely.

If your scores are good, you may just wait 30 days. Back when I got my first Amex I applied for Blue and was approved, 30 days later I applied for PRG, and was also approved. What is a BSP?

I just realized this is a 2 month old thread...oh well.
Amex Platinum
Amex BCP 21K
Amex SPG 5K
Barclaycard Arrival Plus WEMC 5K
Chase Sapphire Preferred 23.5K
Credit Union 10K
Discover IT 7.75K

I applied for the TrueEarnings card with Costco. I just got the card in the mail on Monday. This morning (Wednesday), I applied for the BCE and was immediately approved.
