Want to get BCE

Postby Morse » Wed Feb 13, 2013 10:50 pm

I was wondering if yall think I would be approved for the Blue Cash Everyday card. Im planning on applying in March. I just opened a Chase Freedom in September with 5000 limit. My AAoA is 2yrs 3 months. Make about 25k a year.

I also have Chase slate with 5000 limit, over 3yrs old, and a Macys with 500 limit also over 3 years old. I have no bad marks on my credit. My util will be around 4% in March, currently at 12%. CK score=738. Amex also keeps sending me pre approval offers for the blue sky card.

Thanks for your input, dont want to waste a HP.

You'll definitely be fine. I kept getting Blue Sky preapproval offers nonstop, but I applied for the BCE and was instantly approved. Their approval criteria for their "Blue" cards are similar, probably even identical.
AMEX BCE ($20,000), Citi Forward ($6,800), Discover IT ($5,250), BoA Travel Rewards ($1,800)

I've applied twice, denied both times (07/12 & 09/12). Reasons were (as best as I can remember) not long enough history with AmEx, too many inquiries, and lack of credit history. Thankfully I already have my Zync so no HPs, but any chance they'll let me in now?

I have about 15 cards and have only 7-8 inquiries showing per report. Hopefully folks pick up on the "app spree" process and time their apps well.

Ive been reading about the offers you can get from [cardmatch].[/cardmatch], so went ahead and tried it. It gave me an offer for 250 reward dollars after a 1000 spent on BCP. I really dont plan on spending enough to justify the AF on the card but the bonus is definetly tempting. So my question is does Amex let you change to the no fee card say a year later and keep all the points? Is the preferred harder to get approved for, especially considering I only make 25000 a year?
