AmEx CLI success!

Postby nomnomnom » Thu Jan 17, 2013 3:12 pm

Got AmEx card back in October with a $7,500 limit.

Called in for a CLI today, because the online CLI link wasn't working, and was approved for an $8,800 increase to $16,300!

As with most AmEx CLI's that I'm aware of, this didn't cost me a hard-inquiry and was just based off AmEx's most recent soft pull of my information.

I have heard stories on various boards about the 61 day CLI. Some say it is from date of approval whereas others say the 61 days start from activation. So today I called AMEX and the CSR stated that the CLI request date is from date of activation. Hopefully this information will assist you in calculating your request date.

It is from date of account open, which most-often coincides with date of approval. FYI, you can call a CSR and request the next eligible CLI date.

@kcarter609: AmEx Hilton Honors. I hope to expand my AmEx portfolio in the future but my recent app spree has me gardening for awhile. I'd rather not divulge detailed income, but it is over $60k and under $100k, annually.
