Think it's too early for me to upgrade?

Postby adiaudi1211 » Sat Jan 05, 2013 2:52 pm

I have the green card since January 2012, and I'm trying to upgrade to the gold card. Im concern that i will get denied and that will effect my credit score by seeking new credits.

I believe you have to wait until the 13th month due to CARD Act (creditors are not allowed to increase the annual fee during the first 12 months that an account is opened). A lot of times after that 13th month, when you log in they will already offer you the upgrade. If not, you may call them to inquire.

your not seeking new credit all your doing is changing your level, you will still have the same account number. your going from a sales persons card paying 95.00 annual fee to a vice presidents card to either the 125.00 or 175.00 annual fee. I just use these job positions as an example. your credit report will not take a hit.
