Full 3x increase or no??

Postby Jslimm1985 » Fri Jan 04, 2013 6:43 pm

I'm sure the question has been asked and answered for ages but....

I got approved for a BCE and I'm already thinking ahead to 61 days from now for the coveted CLI. I just wanted to get other members opinions on asking for the full 3x increase. My initial CL is 10K. Should I go for the Gold and settle for Silver? or not get ahead of myself and be respectful?

Thank You

I honestly don't make much. Just about 50k a year from my military income. Which is why I think NOT asking for the full 3x would be my best course of action.

Hmm I think your better off sticking with your current limit given how amazing it is already. You don't want to give Amex a reason to put you into financial review. I personally think I would dump the cards if I had to deal with their process.

I'm not so concerned with a financial review. If I have any change in my salary I'm pretty prompt in letting them know. A lot of folks let the FR spook them. I don't understand why....

It's more the principle than anything. I don't want to hand them all of that information about me just because they randomly decide to. Why does it matter if all of my accounts paid in full and on time every month for years?

Now that I do agree with. Put someone under FR for them struggling to make their payments or missing payments altogether. Not because they ask for a CLI or have a change in spending habits.

So what does everyone think? Full 3x? Or less? Personal experiences would be wonderful.

If you don't care about a FR, go for broke and request the full 3X. If you're truthful on the income and have nothing to hide, why not? I don't have the card (applying in like 2 weeks) so I can't say from personal experience.

Is the FR standard protocol when applying for the CLI? Or is there something I'm missing? Is it because my wanted CL exceeds a certain amount? Like 25K for instance?
