Should I app for the green?

Postby paparoach429 » Mon Dec 31, 2012 3:26 am

My scores are in the high 600s, first credit card 1 year and 9 months ago, 1 30 day late. What are my chances of being approved? Ive been wanting this card for a while now however, I never get mailers from Amex. Do you guys think I will be approved? Should I apply today to be backdated from 2012?

Congrats on the card. I applied and got denied with low 700's scores, I should've just called the reconsideration line but I'll just have to wait a couple months.

Congrats, Papa! Now all you have to do is use your green card and pay your bill on time and wait 13 months...Amex with then most likely send you and invitation to upgrade to their Gold card. That's what they did with me after I was approved for my green card. The recent credit card act prohibits them from offering you an upgrade for 13 months. But you're on your way! Again, Congrats!!!

Congrats Papa! getting a green amex is excellent. Be good to them and don't go on a spending craze or mess around with the check your spending ability button too much. Also, if you really wanted too, you can apply for a 2nd amex with the same hard pull (I'm kicking myself because I didn't do that.) Congrats again!

Thanks guys, Ive been wanting that card for way too long. So far I like their customer service especially because its 24/7, but one guy I talked too didnt know what the hell he was talking about. I called the regular cs number and a guy was explaining to me what basic cards they had blah blah blah and he mentioned they had a green card that you didnt accumulate points with for $55 a year. He also mentioned the ZYNC card to me! So finally when I got handed over to the next person i asked to apply for the zync card which she said they no longer had and then also told me they didnt have a green card with a $55 a year annual fee. I guess this guy was new!

I do agree the green card is a beautiful card that works well , over the holidays , what I mean was during the month of December whenever
I made a gift card purchase at the malls I used my green card. the only down side of this card is the 95.00 annual fee , I think 75.00 is reasonable in this economy. it's a very good card.

Congrats, I was really excited when I got mine as well. It's a great looking card. I think it looks better than the gold.
