Huh. I did too. Happy, but confused. What's up with that? Is it because it's our first year?

I wonder if it has something to do with AmEx settlement.

Interesting.. Could be. I got a refund today and called to ask about it. The lady on the other end had a scripted response and told me that it is a reward for loyal customers. (I've been a member since 2012 lol  .)

I think it's because they are waiving the first year for most people. I didn't sign up for any of their products that required this lawsuit that they just settled.

The claim elsewhere was the it was for people who applied in a short period between Aug and sep 25th. For those that got refunds, did you apply in that period?

I applied in Feb and haven't got a refund!

Earlier this year (I don't remember when), I converted a Blue Cash Everyday to Preferred. A few months passed and I was billed half of the annual fee. When I called to inquire, I was told it had been prorated and that I'd be charged the full fee in a year. Perhaps those getting refunds should have been prorated in the first place but weren't? I'd call Amex and ask for a refund for myself, but I've made $75 three or four times over through card referrals, so I don't feel like they owe me.
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).

*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.

On another forum, the explanation was given that for a short period of about 5 weeks, ending 9/25, Amex was sending out the wrong T&C letter with BCP, presumably stating no AF and so decided to refund the fee for those impacted. Just like to know if that is the case for those here. I didn't get a refund, and even though I have had a $1000 back from the BCP since Feb, unlike JeffysDad, I wouldn't be opposed to an additional $75 if I am entitled to it (which I'm not if the wrong letter story is true).

Something very similar happened on the Plat cashback card in the UK last year, so wouldn't be surprised.

Amex Blue Cash USA
Amex US Gold Corporate Card
World MasterCard Capital One UK (Free abroad + Cashback + Free Cash Withdrawals with no interest)

On the contrary, Reclusive. I am never opposed to free money. Everyone, please send your extra money to Jeffysdad. Thank you.
