That's great info, Sparky :D . Thanks a bunch! This may sound dumb, but I never knew exactly how backdating works. Makes sense now. I will make my payment 2 or 3 days after my statement comes out. I do like Amex a lot, and I want to continue to do business with them long term. My statement won't come out for another two weeks so it'll be interesting to see if I can continue to use it for day to day expenses until then, but I'm pretty sure there won't be any problems. Awesome info, thanks again.

I second this. Thanks to everyone who contributed. I'm glad to be a part of this forum. I have learned so much since joining that now I feel like some sort of expert when discussing credit with friends and family, etc lol.

This shows the power of these forums. It's very helpful to share information with each other. You just have to ask questions and read a lot and then it all starts making sense. That's how I continue to learn as well.
