I'm just going off of personal experience. I got my green in 01/2011 and was eligible to upgrade to Gold, Gold PRG and Platinum in 07/2012. Pretty sure once you have one and show that you're a responsible individual for a few months, you'll be get to get all the others. With you JUST being approved for the green, I don't know if they'll approve you for the PRG right away. Keep in mind that every person/situation is different.

Thanks. I don't want to activate the green, they actually made the mistake of approving me for the green by applying my tax forms to the green instead of the gold. So now the gold is processing. Wouldn't be such a bad thing to use the green for a few months and upgrade but I really want the bonus 25k sign up points and no AF that comes with the premier gold. I heard if you upgrade, those offers are not included. I think only if you apply for the card directly and not upgrade.

Boom! They say they will expedite the Gold card. Should I keep both green and premier gold? Both no annual fee for first year. 25k pts with the gold card. Maybe I activate both and cancel one of them after a year.

That is what I would do.

You know, if you use your PRG and stay within the terms and conditions of the offer, you can often cancel it before the Annual Fee, but keep the bonus. Typically your Membership Rewards is tied to you as a customer, and you can ask them to move the points over to your other card.

Thanks jriley. I have both cards now. I've activated the PRG. You think there's no harm in activating the green and not using it or maybe charging a a few things here and there on it?
