Does anyone else feel that American Express is 'cheapening out'?
I'm eighteen, and have an American Express Zync card. I love the customer service, and what not, but my income varies a lot, and yet they were fine with that, for only $25. Seems like they should reject me...
Their Platinum cards are basically handed out.
Ideas like Sync are cool, but again seems like the are trying to make their products more appealing to young people.
Finally, I don't find their rewards to be that great unless you're spending upwards of $50,000 a year, and get that many points. The 'exclusive' notion of the card is gone from what I mentioned with Platinum, but also because you really don't get great concert tickets with them.
I haven't used the concierge on the Delta Reserve card, but I also would guess that is very bureaucratic, etc. I do like the Sky Club access, though.
Just my thoughts. I hope AmEx will get back on track, as I'm very happy with many aspects of the card. Just haven't been dazzled yet...
Looking to maximize credit, for myself and others.
