Sak- My brother is the exact same way. I told him that whatever cards I will apply for and get approved for, if he wants to be an authorized user he can do so, but he keeps saying "not now" to my offers. Whatever

Bob- That's good. You gotta start somewhere, and it's working out good for him, minus the lazy part of course.

Signhere- I'm sorry I kept on using my income from last year in my other thread. This year, I am supposed to pull in 12k (quite a bit higher then last year) and I think it would have kept me away from applying for a lot cards. I don't mind the annual fees. I can justify the fee for the regular Gold and Green, definitely not the PRG or Platinum. I want to try for the Freedom card as well, but idk if I would get approved for it. That's why I need your guys's help in deciding what cards I should get and when to apply for them. Cause I really don't want to waste an inquiry if there is not much of a chance that I will get a card.

These are my current scores as of 10/25/12, 6 months of history, and 12k projected income for this year (11,100-200, after tax)

Chase approved my Freedom (1k CL) with only my Zync and SL's on my report - I didn't have any revolving credit on my report at the time I app'd. I had my Zync for 2 years and all my SL's are paid with no lates. My score at the time of approval for the Freedom was EX fico of 687.

It's always difficult to "predict" an approval.

But the thing is, should I take the hard pull and apply or wait? and if I apply what should I apply for? I have a list or cards that I hope to get in the next 3-4 years. And that's true, you never know who will approve you and for what card.

To be honest, the current 5% Freedom categories aren't the most useful right now. I would wait until at least January to see what the categories will be... then apply if it makes sense. There really isn't much reason to rush for that reason.

I saw your list of cards and they are pretty much what I am aiming for in the long run.

Ahh okay, do you recommend applying for any of the cards mentioned on the previous page or should I wait until this month or December to apply? I was surprised at my scores, I thought they were going to be lower...

I would give the student cards a shot - should not matter much when you apply.

The Disney card is backed by Chase as well - so the acceptance criteria is probably close to the Freedom card. If it is really something you want, just like the Freedom you probably have a chance with it. However, keep in mind your income. Chase usually has a threshold for the amount of credit they will lend out. So, if you app for the Disney card and get approved, it could make getting approved for the Freedom a bit more difficult (might have to convince them to move CL's around). If you really want to app for this now, I would say just app for the Freedom, then app for the Disney.

Alright I'll give the forward and the more a try and see what happens. I'll try for the Disney card in the future (sometime next year), but do I have any chance for the Freedom? from what I have seen and heard on myfico forums, is typically you have to have 1 year's worth of clean history before they accept you. Also what about AMEX? do I have any chance of being approved them for a card? Really the only 2 cards I want from them are the Gold and the BCE. The only reason for the Disney card is because I go there about 3-4 times a year, and my younger brother loves Disney (they can get a meet n greet or something like that with the characters as a benefit) that was the only reason I looked at it.

I have 12k income, 6 months of history, and my scores are: Equifax: 725 Experian: 738 Transunion:739

When I applied for my Freedom I worked very closely with someone at a branch. She had recently moved to the US and had only been working here for a few months. She was told to have a checking account first, even if it was for a matter of minutes. Her credit scores were sub 700 and she had almost no credit history. She was approved with a decent credit line.

If you look Here you can see what is happening to other people. Put in the card name in the "Creditor Name," choose N/A, Put a score like 800 in, and your state. It will tell you what other people have been getting.

Well here is what I want to go for right now, but idk my chances but according to credit boards I have a decent chance of pretty much all the cards, I just fear I'm going to get denied because I only have 6 months of history.
