One last bump, and also do you think I will be approved for any one of the cards with 6 months of history or is it better to wait until December? And should I try for the AMEX Green or Gold? Because I keep hearing "If you get approved for one charge card, other then the platinum and centurion, you can probably be approved for the other.

I would go for more & forward at the end of this month, then go for gold and freedom on the same day in mid to late December. The first 2 are easier to get and I know AmEx & chase like to see some prime cards before approval IMO. Also with the later 2 you can call and recon them both if you get denied via the manual review with AmEx and then in my situation letting chase know you have the more but want their freedom will likely result in success with a recon. Just keep your utilization down probably under 10% for these 2 months to increase your chances. Then whichever of the 4 you don't get just garden and reapply in the fall next year and I'm sure you will have them all. Good luck

W- Should I wait for CK to update, or should I take the plunge and apply today? (statement cuts yesterday, 6 months was on Thursday) And also, student versions for both or regular? and also my utilization is always at 0, because I pay my balance before the statement cuts, so it always reported as 0.

I would think it would hardly matter for those 2 cards so I would go for it, it's up to you however. I think if you get denied it won't be because you didn't wait 2 extra days but more for other reasons or they just don't want you at this time which you can't help anyways. Chase/Amex would be a different story so that's why I would wait until December for them.

Also I would apply for the regular on both but just put that you are a student....then maybe if denied in a recon they could decide to offer you the student version if you want it, which to my knowledge is the same card but with no intro period?

You know what I just think I'll apply for the student version on both cards and then change them after a few months into the regular version. I mean if they really are the same thing with the regular version or student ( the rewards I mean) and then apply for Amex and chase in December ( end of the semester for me.) if I don't get approved then what should I do?

If it shows as a student card on your reports (I'm not sure if it does or not) it won't be as appealing to Chase or Amex. If it were me I'd go for the regular on both (still put that you are an employed student if you want, I think I did when I applied)...and if you get a double deny today then your time frame changes to next summer probably when you can reapply for either the more/forward again or all 4 of the cards you want. I honestly think you're planning a little far ahead and you should just see with these 2 now, then get a game-plan from there. I believe they are relatively easy to get approved for.

Edit clarifying what I meant: Whether or not you get approved for these two cards right now will give a better insight into what your credit profile looks like to lenders. If you can get the More and Forward now, then it would be fine to go for Chase and Amex in December. However, if Discover and Citi are declining you now, it would not make sense to apply for Chase and Amex in December thinking things will all the sudden be different and you'll be getting approvals from them.

To answer your question:

If you get approved now: Apply for Chase and Amex in December

If you don't get approved now: Garden until next summer to try again at either just the first 2 or all 4 cards.

In the end, anything is your decision in either way you want to take it moving forward. I hope you get approved for at least 1, but hopefully both of the cards you're wanting now. No matter what happens, be sure to post! Good luck

It also asks me about a mortgage or rent payment. I currently live with my parents still, but I give them about 100 a month, should I put that or put 0? And this is the regular version I'm talking about for both of them. I don't want come off across as not being able to pay my debt (because I think they factor this in their decision, and 100 seems kinda low.)

So I went online, and talked to Customer service, and they told me that the Forward card is a little bit higher to qualify, but the student version I qualified for. Idk my APR but I got approved and with a CL for 1,500. The lady who approved me also said that on the credit report it just shows as a regular citi card (according to the CSR, and supervisor.) SO YAY, I've got errands to run, so I will be back I'll apply for Discover More.

Congrats! Both my Citi Forward and Discover More (student ones) show up as regular too. I think they only distinguish it during the application process.
