Using a Chase United card on lhrcollection.com I found La Casa Que Canta and Viceroy Zihuatanejo available those dates. You can check availability using the BIN 438857 .

I was just trying to be helpful to the OP, who is looking for a suitable card. There are sometimes better options than Amex Platinum.

My family is planning to go to Zihuatanejo in Ixtapa Mexico over thanksgiving (Nov 22-29). I've read about the Amex Platinum card and it looks like they have good rewards if you use them to book travel. I'm thinking that if they have a vacancy at a resort in Zihuatanejo it would be a good time for me to sign up and pay the $450 since I can make it up in the resort fees/benefits. However their website at http://www.americanexpressfhr.com does not let me see any availability unless I'm a member already.

Could someone who has an Amex Platinum please check if there is availability through that site? If there is I'll be applying for the Amex Platinum right away.

thanks in advance!

I found this it's the only one that comes up. Hope this helps. PM if you got any questions.
