How much can you spend with a no preset spending limit?

Postby gold-rick » Fri Sep 21, 2012 2:28 am

Hey guys -

I'm 19 and just recently got approved for the Premier Rewards Gold card, and I was wondering when I receive it in the mail, can I spend $1300 right away?

I really like the 25k points if you spend $2k in 3 months and I wanted to buy a furniture set for my condo for around $1300. How much will AMEX allow me to spend with a no preset spending limit?

Thanks - Rick :D

I would either use the Spending ability tool on the website or call and inquire. Your NPSL "limit" will depend on how much you spend each month. If and when you want to step outside of that, simply call.

I've been an amex member for about 3 months now and I've easily spent quite a hefty amount in that time, I always call before though.

In the Wallet:
Amex Platinum - NPSL (daily)
Capital One Cash Rewards (Builder CC) - $500CL
Best Buy - $2000CL (Increased 9/2013)
Express - $250CL (Builder)

700+ Credit Score Across the board
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $5000+ CL (Secondary)
Bestbuy - $5000+ CL

It all depends on your past spending history with them. I may be wrong but as a new member, you may have a hard limit unless you call them and let them know in advance.

It depends on,

* Your past spending and payment history
* Your income

Use check spending abilities.
