Help needed for my first

Postby mylog » Mon Sep 17, 2012 8:44 pm

Hello Guys,

Thanks for maintaining such a wonderful forum. I started learning many things here, now I am in search for my AMEX card :) ...

I have Green and Gold as pre-approved cards, but I am more interested towards Gold premier rewards (due to more rewards) so is there any chance for me to get approval for it? my credit score is around 710 (from creditkarma, credit history for 8months), i already have two other credit cards. I was never into debts and I always pay my balance on time.

Currently I am a working employee and make around 60k. Also if my application gets rejected then will it hurt my credit score? please help me to choose the card. Thanks...

I'd say you stand a good chance of getting approved. If you are declined it won't hurt your score, only count as a hard inquiry.

which could certainly deduct a few points. The PRG is not the hardest amex to get but it certainly isnt for everyone. Make sure the benefits outweigh the costs. With an annual fee of $175 along with my assumptions of your young age and therefore lower income, it may be detrimental to get a card with such a high fee. I suggest you check out the amex blue cash rewards.

Also try and invest in getting real FICO scores, FAKO scores from sites like credit karma only give you a rough estimate of the number creditors will see and in some cases can be 50 points or more off in either direction. Go to myFICO.com to get the scores that most creditors such as amex use.
Amex Zync - NPSL (Cleared up to 25k)

Chase Freedom - 2000 limit
Chase Slate - 2000 Limit
BoA Cash Rewards Privileges- 3000 limit
Barclaycard Rewards MC - 3000 limit
Discover IT- 3500 limit

Its not about the ending, its about the journey,
just as long as the ending is just as good
