Nice, I have family in Berkley...I don't know how far that is from you, But I've been to the Bay area quite a few times. Seems like a good place to live, but my cousin tells me that it's really expensive to live up there compared to LA.

Really? I thought LA is pricer. But living cost around Bay Area is indeed very high. Now with Amazon collecting taxes for CA, it is going to be even tougher.

Oh man, I know. Looks like I just might have to buy from other sites. Kind of why I liked Amazon. but now that tax is there, and it's going to be more expensive. LA is pricey as well, but it depends where you live tbh. The nicer areas (West LA, like Malibu, Santa Monica, BH, and other places are expensive). I live in a quite nice area as well, but it's getting more expensive to live here year by year.

American Express must be trying to raise acceptance in Europe, which is good news especially for travellers as both my wife and best friend who have merchant agreements with Amex have just had their discount rate dropped by 0.69% and they were told for most merchant categories this would happen in the UK, France, Spain and Germany.

I then thought I'd get a bit of revenge and ordered 4 coffees and two chocolate muffins waited till I went to pay, dipped the chip into the card machine and then they say they no longer take Amex and I walk away leaving everything on the top. I get the feeling that it was a very expensive decision too not accept Amex :P (Someone behind me walked away just after me when he heard they don't take as well). AWESOME! that probably didn't made the merchant's day. But you do know.... once they stop taking AMEX they severed their relationship with them therefore even IF they wanted to take your card to save the sale, they couldn't run the charges thru. LOL
