The day you activate it. I would call on few more days after 61 days, say on 65th day.

I'm coming up on my 6 month CL on Amex, and I can't figure out which card to do.

I have a Blue Cash Preferred I can go up to 18k on, an SPG card I can do 6k, and I'll be getting rid of my Delta Gold by the end of the year.

I'm leaning towards getting the 18k, so other card companies will see a large credit line from amex, and when I get rid of the Delta Gold I'll funnel that into the SPG card.

Thoughts?
American Express '02: Platinum, Blue Cash Preferred 6k, SPG 2k, Delta Gold 1k
Barclaycard '11: Apple Financing Card 2.5k
Citi: Diamond Rewards 1.5k
Chase: Freedom 500
Discover '12: Discover IT 1.5k

Looking at your signature and seeing your current limits, I really don't know that Amex would go to $18K, I mean, $500 on Chase? I can't say for sure, but already having 3 Amex's and requesting an increase from $6K to $18K could risk an FR. I would go small first, maybe request $10K total ($6k to $10K) now, then at the end of the year close the Delta and allocate that limit to SPG. Then in March request like $5K on the BCP for a total limit of $15K. Even then I don't know that you will get that much of an increase off the bat. Again, it never hurts to try and the worst they can do is either decline it or offer a counter CLI.

I don't understand the obsession with raising your limit after 60 days, I had 2 1/2 years ago an 1100 limit on a blue cash card, it's now 30k I spent 4-5k a month on it just use there card I got 2 unsolicited increases and every 6 months asked to have it raised by 5k each time and they did without any hard pulls. They want to see use, keep in mind never carried a balance always paid in full i would have raised it to 35k but they wanted authorization to pull last 2 years tax returns.
