amex changed the delta gold skymiles commercial

Postby KC95 » Fri Mar 13, 2009 3:22 am

i noticed tonight amex is still running the same commercial for the god delta skymiles card. you know that one that shows a grocery store and says double skymiles on groceries. then it shows a gas station and says double skymiles. then a pharmacy. then something else. the difference is now they took out the double part and replaced the text with just earn skymiles at gas stations instead of earning DOUBLE skymiles at gas stations. the commercial was blah to begin with but now it looks really out of place by them only re-doing the text shown on each of the scenes. then too i thought that amex wanted to get rid of cardholders and with that i dont know why they would be running commercials like this for entry level amex cards. i read on here that is the easiest american express credit card to get.

I would rather consider it a smart move from Amex to change and existing add by just modifying the text. In these financial times it is definitely a great idea to save money by not doing a entire new ad campaign.

As far as I know Blue Cash is currently the easiest Amex card to get.

What I don't understand is that maybe Amex would not need our tax money for bailouts if they weren't spending money on all these ads campaigns for more customers and then paying another $300 each to get rid of them on top of that!!! :ppp

What they ought to do is end credit card commercials and advertisements all together. Why are they still running ads trying to reel in new customers when they can't handle and don't want the ones they got. You know that bailout money ain't suppose to be going for bonuses and big spender ads. After Citibank got the money they dropped a cool 400 million on a ball park. That ain't what this money is for.
