Amex canceled my BCE

Postby agp » Sat Jul 28, 2012 6:51 am

I was at my parents' house last night, and for some reason they had my parents' number on file. Amex called and my mom picked up first, but I took over mid-call.The CSR told me that my Blue Cash Everyday is going to be closed because my % utilization is 0 (because I pay my balance off being the end of the billing period) but should I want another card I can apply again. I then did a quick search online to see if this has happened to anyone else and apparently it has, they just apply for the same card a month later and most got approved. Sure it's an inconvenience but I think I'll be okay. Next thing I knew I woke up from my alarm clock.

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred

You had me going. I honestly could believe that based on what I've seen. When I applied for their Delta Gold card they denied me for the most bizarre reason I've seen this side of Citibank, but said I could apply again in the future. Sure guys I'll be glad to throw away an inquiry on you - NOT!

Seriously that is the backasswards way they seem to do everything so you had me believing it good one!

I was going to say....AMEX is probably one of the better card companies when it comes to inactive accounts and what not.

Regardless...I still checked my Blue card just now to be sure everything was okay. You as$ hat! Scaring people this early in the morning

So they canceled your card, because you pay off in full every month, and your paying off before the billing cycle ends, so it shows 0??

it's just a joke. But being Amex, with what I've seen, I could seriously believe it.

Haha, you got me too. Halfway through your story I started freaking cause I always pay my BCP in full, and am not about to start carrying a balance of any kind just so they don't close it off. That was pretty funny though.

It wasn't until I read the responses that I got the joke. But like others have said, I could also seriously believe it!!
