Sounds on the surface like you would have been a shoo-in. Guess you'll just have to see what they say.

Could be. People say Amex is inquiry sensitive but there is much worse out there (Citi for example). If they were uber inquiry sensitive, they'd have never approved me.

then that is just your personal experience. Amex IS inquiry sensative, have several family members who can attest to this. Citi on the other hand could care less.

I read somewhere else on this forum that they look for 2 years of credit history, on 2 revolving accounts, to approve you for a Blue Cash card.

I called the recon line, and they approved me, but AmEx works in very bizarre ways. I can't get any other card than an Amex. Chase was relluctant to give me a chase freedom with a $500 limit, but in 9 months AmEx approved me for: PRG (Oct.), BCE 6k (March after reconing), SPG 6k (May with auto-approval), Delta Gold 1k (July with auto-approval).

Why they approve some and not other is beyond me or logic. I have currently a 640 credit score from utilization and inquiries, and every bank looks at me as a pariah, but AmEx love me, so Go fig.
American Express '02: Platinum, Blue Cash Preferred 6k, SPG 2k, Delta Gold 1k
Barclaycard '11: Apple Financing Card 2.5k
Citi: Diamond Rewards 1.5k
Chase: Freedom 500
Discover '12: Discover IT 1.5k
