When do my reward points show up?

Postby Kicker » Tue Jul 03, 2012 5:06 pm

Hey all, as some of you may already know, I got a green card recently and decided to purchase a 200 dollar monitor at bestbuy last weekend. But I haven't gotten a single reward point. What do I need to do so I can get points?

Thanks a ton everyone.
My Wallet:

AMEX Green - NPSL (Obtained 2012)

I believe it takes a month after you make your first payment (for your first statement) for the points to appear....perhaps someone else can chime in on this. I know it's not an instant thing.

That's correct, the points are always a month behind posting to the account. After your statement closes you can go to three points summary page from the membership rewards screen and check how many points you earned in the pending balance section. They'll then post at the close of the following statement. I actually asked the same question when my first statement closed on my green card. Seems like they so it this way to discourage you from cashing in a whole bunch of points right away and then going back and returning whatever purchase you made or refusing to pay your bill.
Amex Green - NPSL - 05/12
Amex Zync - NPSL - 06/12
Discover it - $7750 - 11/12
Chase Sapphire Preferred Visa Signature - $5000 - 11/12
SECU Platinum Visa - $5000 - 08/08
Bank of America Cash Rewards Platinum Plus Visa - $3000 - 06/08
Citi Diamond Preferred Mastercard - $3000 - 05/12
GECRB Old Navy Visa - $2500 - 11/12
Chase Amazon Visa - $2000 - 11/12
Chase Freedom Visa - $2000 - 07/12
Citi Thank You Visa - $1000 - 06/12
Amex Blue Cash Everyday - $1000 - 01/13
