Why is my AmEx application pending further review?

Just applied for the Business Membership Rewards Card this morning and got the message below:
Thank you for your application for The Business Membership Rewards® Card From American Express OPEN and any Additional Cards you may have requested. In order to provide you with an instant decision, we need to speak with you. We are available to assist you from Monday through Friday, 8 AM to midnight, Saturday 9:30 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday 10 AM to 9 PM ET.

Please call us at 1-800-582-6471 to be connected directly to a Customer Care Professional who will provide you with a decision. To expedite your call, please refer to your individual tracking number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

If you are unable to speak with us now, please print this page and call us during the hours listed above. We will finalize your application at that time. If we don't hear from you, we will attempt to contact you within 2-3 days.

Perhaps they need more information? I've never heard of this with a personal card, so perhaps you meet the credit criteria but they want more information on your business.

I guess its a good sign, considering they didn't auto-deny you!

They probably just need to verbally verify some of the information given on the application. Call them up and see what they say.

Well if that somehow is the case in my opinion it'd be better to get it out of the way from the beginning instead of having to walk on eggshells thinking everything you do will cause a FR. I thought they only conducted those for existing members though -- never heard of them asking for that from a new applicant.
