Amex is great. can't complain on my platinum or my blue sky wich had a good initial credit limit, now it's tripled the amount thanx Amex.

oh, they do ask for your total income before they approve the cli. High income or the way you use the card and manage their money are among the many factors they take into account to grant you higher credit limits

I've never tried to automated system. What new info do they require? And, did you income go up?

They asked for the 4 digits in the front of the card, 3 digits in the back and my total annual income (including investments, retirement, rental properties, etc). For reference I'm just a regular middle class gal, annual income around $60k. I don't know how they calculate your limit based on your income, but I think I got an awesome credit line.

I also just found out that you cannot request a CLI from Amex within 6 months of obtaining a CLI on any of your other Amex accounts.

Hello friends,

After going thru all the replies on this thread, i guess they perform a soft pull for 3x CLI after 60 days. I just want to ask what all information is included in Soft pull? Do they get all the other credit card balances as part of soft pull as well? I'm asking because i am planning to get a 0% balance transfer offer on my other card, but i dont want to proceed if this will create any problem for me in getting 3x CLI on amex.
