But the lay is a lot better when you have the funds/income to back it :)

I have received quite a lot about my zync. Usually its along the lines of "I have never seen a white Amex before! Must be a fancy one!"
Wallet:
AMEX BCP: 9K (2012) (every day expenses, gas, groceries, department stores)
AMEX Zync: NPSL (2011) (large expenses)
AMEX Costco: 4k (2013) (Costco, gas, and restaurants)
Discover IT: 5K (2010)
PenFed Plat Rewards Visa: 3K (2012) (Gas, Target)
USAA Plat MC: 7K (2010) (everyday expenses, places that do not take Amex or Discover)
US Bank Cash+: 7K (2012)
Target REDCard 3k (2013)

Yeah it's so fancy some of them have 500 dollar hard limits just like a Cap One rebuilder :D

But why ruin the illusion hey? :) I actually liked my Zync card I would not mind seeing Amex bring it back someday. I read rumors that it was in the works but haven't heard anything beyond that.

Just stating the obvious. People don't do that enough these days and end up wasting so much time and opportunities.

I received my first credit card, as an authorized user, at 15. I always got looks when using it. Unfortunately I also ran into a lot of issues because no one believed it was mine. I eventually had to go into citi bank and have them add my picture to the card which cut out of lot of the nonsense from merchants.

I live in NYC and I dont think people care to much about the card being used although I have noticed a few extra glances for my Amex BCP card over the others I have. Never received any special treatment for it. Any special treatment I receive is because I frequent the establishment regularly and I treat the staff respectfully. No one likes a snob who thinks they are the worlds greatest $H!+

I think FAST was just joking. I'm sure he meant no offense.

I've always been one who believes in going after what you want in life too. Generally speaking, you can't rely on others to do that for you, nor should you. Of course employers don't like it when you go after what you want, but then again enough of them downsized me that they can't very well preach to me how I owe them lifetime loyalty when I see they let people go as soon as quarterly numbers take a dive (as my current employer just did). That's so 70s (the whole loyalty thing) that went out the window long ago. Go after your dreams whatever they may be.
