I like the design of the plat. I think it'd be cool if was sorta embossed looking like the sapphire cards though...
Cards in my wallet:
-Citi Forward Card for College Students-July 2011
-American Express Platinum Delta Skymiles--July 2013

The black on the numbers is already wearing off and significant scratching after a week. It would be cool if it was a bit more durable.

Use some paint and paint it back on.... sharpie maybe? When I had that card, mine looked all beat up to hell like it did go to hell and back. I kind of like that look. Looks like I use it (and I do) more than just store it to flash around.

paint and sharpie can't save mine after today. went to home depot for extra patio chairs. the credit card reader was not fully working so the lady had to do a manual imprint (haven't seen one of those in ages). i guess she didn't align my card correctly cause the outcome was the first four numbers and part of the expiration date became flatten. looks like it got ran over by a bulldozer...

putting up a cash only sign wouldn't have hurt.

normally i don't mind wear and tear but the numbers are practically flattened to the point where you can't make them out. called amex and i will have a new card tomorrow.

DAMN! That sucks. I should be getting my new amex sometime this week. Will they always do that if your card becomes "damaged"?

Eh, no need for sharpie. Good point on the used look. I do use the heck out of my cards so there's no trouble getting them all ragged looking. Hah!

I normally don't call for card replacements until it really needs replacing. When I had the gold I used it so much that the magnetic strip was almost completely scratched off from deep scratches caused by hard swipes.

My platinum's magnetic strip is fine but the damaged numbers is what caused me to request a new card. It looked as if someone tried to scrape off the numbers. If the card needs to be manually entered. The person entering the card information will not be able to make out the first 4 numbers.

If your card is legitimately damaged the issuer will replace it since they want you to continue using their card. I personally will never ask for a replacement if my card is worn. If it works it's fine for me.
