Questions about authorized users on Platinum

Postby m20e3087 » Sat Jun 02, 2012 6:56 pm

Does Platinum authorize user get same benefits as the card holder?
For authorized user, will the card holder be able to set up a max spending limit?
Does AMX charge the fee right away, or is it at the end of the year?

I think they charge au fee with next killing cycle. Yes you can set the limits for au. Be aware there are ways around it (eg international charges). As for benefits, only some of them are for all cards. 200 airline is per account (maybe only main card). Not sure goes credit is for all cards. I forget which benefits are on all cards.

you can also add a spouse to have access to concierge without adding them as an authorized user.

They get "most" of the benefits. Yes, you can set a limit so your AU doesn't go crazy and bankrupt you (it's been known to happen). If you know that person's salary/wages, take the discretionary income times 2. Unless you are willing to pay for all their charges. Your spouse could be off their med's and go shopping for jewelry or something.

The fee is prorated and charged the next billing cycle.
