In what should be the last word on this (probably long overdue actually) I checked the status this morning and it said "Declined".

So, I think it's pretty accurate to say they just don't want my business. That's cool, they have every right to do that, and I have some other great cards so no harm no foul really. At least I have an answer, or as much of one as I'll get on the subject.

That's alright man. I got denied for my US Bank Cash + app (couldn't help myself!) but it's all good. I should probably focus more on building my existing accounts for the time being, rather than continuing to thrash my AAoA by adding more new ones. You'd probably do well to do the same.

I'm sorry about that. Did you try to recon with them?

I don't have anything else I even remotely want at this time, other than Chase Sapphire Preferred but that is for next year, January at the earliest I would think, to give me a good 6 months with Freedom and let inquiries age and drop off. Other than that I'm fine with what I have.

Things happen for a reason, and I accept they tend to happen for the best.

I have not yet tried to recon with them. I doubt that the current info on my CRs would be conducive to a successful recon anyway since Discover always seems to lag in reporting whenever a positive change hits my account (thus far my only complaint with Discover). I did request this morning that they do an off cycle report for me. They insist that they always report my account on the 10th which is my statement closing date but it hasn't seemed to work out that way for the past 3 months.

EDIT: Trying to recon with US Bank right now. They immediately have me on hold transferring to the "verification department." Wonder what this is all about...

Well since you took the hard pull for it you might as well try. You could always explain if it comes up that the positive info hasn't reported properly as it should and explain how you would be a good customer for them.

Yeah it looks like they just wanted to verify my address, so I guess it's going back to underwriting. I'm hoping to god they didn't pull Equifax because that will be my 20th inquiry lol.
