How many folks carry the PRG vs the Amex gold? Is the extra 50 bucks for the annual fee worth it?

I think it depends - if you are travelling the extra points would pay, and it's better with groceries and gas for points as well. It depends I think if you spend enough in those areas.

If I didn't have BCP, I would want to upgrade my Gold to teh PRG, but with the BCP it wouldn't make sense to do it unless I travelled and in that case I'd probablyl want to go ahead and upgrade to the Platinum.

I want the BCP, but I want to wait until August before I apply for anything else. I spend alot at the grocery store and on gas, so maybe I will give it a shot. Thanks for the response.

I carry it, the extra MRP on travel, gas and groceries are worth. For me the extra $50.00 ok.

Future it depend on you do you travel on business a lot, do you spend a lot at the grocery stores do you spend a lot at the gas stations?

If the answer is yes, then you might want to get the Gold Premier Rewards card. If the answer is no then you might want just want the basic Gold.

If your answer is part yes and part no, you might want to think about it. if you don't travel on business but you spend a lot on gas and grocery, then you might want to think about this yourself.

I upgraded to the Gold Premier Rewards because they don't charge for my wife's additional card, while it was $35 with the Gold Card. The 15,000 MRP given after spending $30,000/year takes away any concerns of our $15 increase in fees.

I have the PRG as well. I really dont see the point in gold unless you live in an area that always has gold/platinum/centurion events...because besides that, the gold is basically a green with a slightly higher AF.

I have the BCP now and I'm thinking about downgrading. I do like the triple points on airfare. But, I think I will just buy Southwest airlines gift cards for my flights and get even more points through BCP or my Penfed rewards.

I upgraded from green to standard gold and now I'm regretting it. The bennies are about the same because I don't go to many concerts or entertainment events. I can't justify the gold AF. I'll probably downgrade back to green at the end of this year.
