Trip cancellation coverage on Gold card

Postby m20e3087 » Sun May 13, 2012 6:20 pm

I booked a flight through orbitz with my GOLD card. Now plans have changed. Does GOLD offer any trip cancel protection?

Yes it does BUT there is a limit on the $$$. It's LOW and does not cover your cost if you fly first class. I bought 2 executive first class return tickets for my trip to HK and Amex is only covering me $2500 per person. LOL my ticket cost waaayyyy more than that. I was told I was on the hook to buy additional insurance with RBC who was covering the first $2500 for Amex.

What the hell I told them. The $2500 is good for an economy ticket. Tell me what Centurion card holder does not fly first most of the time.

They use to have a commercial for this topic. I remember seeing it around the late 80's. Not to get into your personal business, but did plans change due to business related reasons or a family emergency?

Its personal. My friend that was getting married, now called it off 2 weeks earlier. So I am stuck with a tkt. Although they are willing to prorate the tkt, I just want the refund.
