Has anyone ever tried calling the concierge RIGHT after they got to.....

American Express forum. Talk about AmEx credit cards like Blue, Gold, Platinum, Centurion, and more.

Yup... they are failing me on my request for dining in Hong Kong. Get the canned "sorry booked". Not good, no other options also presented.

I used my concierge to get me into a restaurant that I knew was going to be full in Melbourne. I was on the phone under 10 minutes whilst I was in transit, it was a spur of the moment thing but that was through my bank concierge not American Express but still a wonderful outcome.
