I have a Zync with $500 limit and mandatory autopay

Postby irvine801 » Sat May 12, 2012 10:52 am

This is the zync I have. And they said it will have the auto pay option and If I remove it they will cancel the card. But.. they have never done any auto drafts, I don't see it on their website and when I called in, the rep said they don't see an auto pay on this account. Any thoughts my fellow peeps? :)

Just curious honestly. I always have funds in my bank account. But I find it weird that they "forgot". The better question is.. when will they remove my 500 limit!? It's frustrating when I can't get because of the 100 hold gas stations do. But yeah!

All new Zync members have a hard limit hold on a new account. Generally after 6 months of history it should be lifted. I don't have a Zync card so I can't tell you why they are requiring your bank information as autopay.

Not immediately true for all new members regarding a hard limit- I assume if you have some lower FICO scores/etc they may have that $500 hard limit- I've heard of some being lifted after a couple months too though.

As for me, I was approved for the Zync last September and did not have any hard limit. I don't have super fabulous credit, but not horrible credit either.

Did you test your theory and just go crazy? Is that how you know you could charge more than $500? Some people have the limit in writing when they get their card.

I didn't get anything in writing upon receiving my card regarding a limit- and when I logged into my online account under "credit limit" - it read No Pre-set Limit. I think I charged about $700+ the first statement ha.

Thanks for advice guys. Yeah I charge a lot more then 500 per month but its ok I suppose. My fico has gone down a little bit since I open my account with them so I'm hoping that isn't going to change anything. But I always pay early and I've never had problems with American express. So I will let time answer my question. I love you credit enthusiats btw! thanks again.

I don't think everybody gets a limit... Before my first statement I had about $1700 charged on the card and an online purchase was denied, I called and they said I had a limit of $1700 for the first month because it was a new account but that It will increase as they know my spending patterns.. I paid the balance off that same day so I ended up charging over $2500 that month, so far this period I have over $1600 charged, but I checked the online tool that tells you how much you can charge and it approved up to $4500
Amex: Business Platinum (09/12) BCP $10,500 (03/13)
Visa: Capital One Journey $750 (04/11) Chase Freedom $1,800 (04/12)
MasterCard Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select $8,500 (05/13)
Discover: Discover It $2500 (07/11)
Store Cards: Amazon $3900 (12/11) Macy's $500 (04/11) Kohl's $500 (05/12) Victoria's Secret $750 (11/12)
