I thought it took $250,000 a year in spending!

Who knows now. It used it to that it didn't require Platinum to get invite to AMEX Cent. It was all about total spend. They stopped that.

Fast is Canadian so his rules for invite are different as are his benefits.

My wife drives an XKR convertible. Its is big and comfortable for a high performance vehicle. Very smooth and elegant. The SRT is a dodge challenger right? Not sure how bhp converts to horsepower commonly quoted in us press, but my buddy has challenger with hemi engine and it seems rougher. Not sure which is faster to 60 and 100. xkr-s is supposed to be higher performance. Not sure in real world how it feels differently.

Luxury spending. Everything you buy is coded one way or another. As a small business owner I can easily funnel 250k through my card. If it is all advertising and marketing, it might not be likely that I am the affluent customer they are looking for. A centurion customer is someone who feels that money is no object. AmEx has not disclosed the new figure to qualify, but it is higher than 250k. They also want someone who consistently spends that amount, not a one time thing.

I'm sure they have some sort of weird algorithm to determine who gets the cards

Your SRT8 what? Dodge/Ram and Chrysler all have cars with an SRT8 engine.
Assuming it's a Challenger (probably the sportiest of all cars with SRT8 engines), I'm going to say that the time for a short hot lap will probably be very similar as the Jag.

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred

probably along the lines of leisure type spending; travel, dining, events, cars, jewelry vs spending on Fedex this month, office rent, etc

Even though I don't get horny for the Centurion card; the perk you received for the event is actually nice...
