How does the Delta companion ticket work?

Postby bmw1990Z » Sun Apr 29, 2012 8:22 am

I was on the Amex website, and I know I've probably overlooked this, but where does it tell you that you get a companion ticket every year when you renew your amex gold delta skymiles card?
Cards in my wallet:
-Citi Forward Card for College Students-July 2011
-American Express Platinum Delta Skymiles--July 2013

I didn't look at the AMEX website but rather the Delta website:

About SkyMiles Companion Certificates

"Each year, you will receive a domestic Economy Class companion certificate*** for discounted travel each year upon renewal which allow Gold Delta SkyMiles Cardmembers to bring a friend for a $99 Companion Ticket fee plus $10.80-27.60 in government taxes and fees (depending upon the itinerary), and entitles you to Economy seating."

So with Gold Delta Skymiles you have to pay $99 plus governmet fees for the companion ticket.
