I just signed up for this today.

I wonder how many others will be into this? Perhaps this is just coming from a 24 year old Amex cardmember, but do older individuals use outlets such as Twitter?

Of course there has always been the Foursquare sync deals, etc- but do you think the Twitter vehicle will be as successful?

I personally love it; I've actually been one of the "Amex's Tweetstakes" winners when they had a weekly drawing in late 2011, for a kitchen contest. I think only less than 20 people re-tweeted the link to the contest, in which I was one of five winners I believe. Regardless, I see it to be marketed towards a younger audience, as Amex seems to have been doing the last few years anyway.

After you sync your card with twitter, there are some #tags that you tweet and the discount will be credited to your account.

For example, #AMEXWholeFoods tag give you 20UDS credit on your account when you spend 75USD or more in any whole foods. 2 days back i tweet that tag, and went to store yesterday to buy some groceries. I spent like 130USD, but with the credit, i will have to pay only 110USD.

This is another example: Tweet #AmexDell, get $100 back 1x on next $599+ online purch w/synced Amex Card! (QtyLtd, Exp 4/30)

I just participated in the newest Best Buy offer of $10 off $10 last night- you don't even need to include a fancy crazy message. As long as the required hashtag is posted, then your card will be synced with the offer.

i.e. #AmexBestBuy10

[Link via Tumblr]

Sign up now while you can! I skimmed an article earlier as well stating participating companies are already capping their promos due to high sign-ups, etc.

and once you successfully complete the tweeted offer, you get a tweet back confirming so:

Keep in mind that they are saying that you should allow up to 2 billing cycles to see the credit for each transaction. ;)

@Logan - I think it just depends. I've had statement credits appear the next day, others a statement later.

Still doesn't beat $10 courtesy of!
