Don't apply for anything for at least two years. Pay all your debts on time and otherwise be very responsible with your credit. Then apply again for the AMEX.

STOP applying for credit. Wait until ALL of your inquiries fall off your credit report, pay your bills on time for the next 2 years and then apply. It doesn't matter what your credit score is if you have other factors that are denying your application.

+1

Why so many inquiries? You should only apply for credit when you need it. Amex must agree.

Nabil,
Chase may not use the same credit reporting agency as American express which is why you were approved. As the above posters recommend, wait two years to re-apply. Some of your inquires may fall off in a year depending on the inquiry date but applying again with-in the next six months is a guarantee denial.
Congrat on your approval and that card is just as good if not better.

Hey guys thanks for all your replies they are really helpful, AMEX just called and said they were getting inaccurate info thus my application took 22 days. they apologized  and approved me for a 3.5k limit and because of the wait they are expediting the card next day.

Congrats!

Thought with that I wonder; were they pulling someone else's file information? Where did your information go? How did they discover they had the wrong data?

Sucks to hear about that, but glad to hear you got approved! Use it well and wise.
