Small Business Saturday?

I"m sure a lot of people know about it. Has anybody signed up for Small Business Saturday through American Express? I have I signed up on Thursday Nov 17th.

For anybody that has more than 1 American express card which did you sign up with?

I signed up when it was first announced with my Zync- can't wait.

The most difficult decision for me is where to shop; one of my local farmer's markets is listed under the small business category, however I'm not sure how long any produce/etc will last ($25 is a considerable amount of fresh food).

On the flip side, a local Hungry Howie's pizza establishment qualifies for this as well, though I don't know that my body will like me eating $25 worth of pizza.

Another local yogurt shop does too, maybe I'll just go with a gift card of sorts...

Any other ideas of where to support your local small business for y'all?

I have some cleaning around my condo, some laundry to do, since I'm a single guy living in the same area I like to go and see my high school play hockey, it's opening night theres also a alumini game too. so If I can I might try and stop off for dinner at the Mason Jar

a local restaurant 1 town over from me and 1 state away from me about 12 minutes from me, another idea is a Italian restaurant called
Aldos and giannas very good food. it doesn't bother me that the bill will be at least 15 dollars over the 25.00

I don't think I will be going to my local sports store at Paramus park. I might go to pasta cuciana it's about 5 minutes away from I can probably go on the way to the game.

Small Business Saturday

Amex cardmembers essentially receive a one-time $25 statement credit if you spend $25 or more (in a single transaction I believe) at qualifying small businesses as per Amex, on the Saturday after black Friday. You have to register your card through their website and whatnot- pretty cool I think.

I signed up with all my cards. I believe the language didn't restrict the number of accounts, just the number of cards per statement but i might be wrong.

It is a great idea, and AMEX has done it for the last several years. The idea is to get us spending money in small businesses on the busiest shopping weekend of the year. We all run out to Bet Buy and target and plunk down money for the gadgets that are on sale, but maybe now we'll also go into the locally owned toy store, or have lunch at the local diner.

I signed up with both of my AMEX cards.

AMEX is pretty generous with its definition of small business (at least they were last yr). Just to be safe, use the search function on the Facebook page to see if the business pops up in the search.

Also, for those who are not aware of this program, you have to link your card before using it on Saturday

Hey Pete I agree with you 1million percent. It's nice to go to either a local store or like what you said have lunch at a diner.

even though I get only 1 credit on my green card, I might just have lunch and dinner out in a local restaurant.
to me it's not about the savings, it's about the contribution. don't get me wrong the savings is nice but helping out is also nice.
