Just got my card! I called in Tuesday evening and they gave me expedited delivery for Thursday morning. I was a bit hesitant when the CSR told me it'll come quickly given there were shipping issues many folks expressed here. But to my surprise, it was waiting at my door for me.

It is considerably heavier than my Sapphire Preferred card (not sure how much heavier the Reserved is) and is quite sleek. I would say however that the color is a bit browner/darker for a grey rather than the brighter shade of platinum on the plastic card. I also preferred the font type on the plastic card, looked a bit more appealing for a card of this kind rather than the newer font. But whatever, I like it.

Anyone notice the tiny font at the bottom of the border header "AMERICANEXPRESSAMERICANEXPRESS..." repeatedly written? It's also on the old one but a bit more visible.
AmEx Platinum 2009 & Blue Cash $3.5K Delta Gold $6K
BofA BankAmericard $6K | Chase Sapphire Preferred $10K & Amazon $1.5K Freedom $2.2K | CACU Platinum $13K
Discover Cashback $8.5K & It $6K | Citi Simplicity $5.6K & TY $4.3K

Yeah...I saw that, but overlooked it on the old one.

Keep in mind those issues were largely for the flood of us who called in the first two days. Once they got through the first week, I think the number of delay/misinformation complaints quickly fell and they could handle demand. I assume they had a printing or shipping bottleneck, and not a card inventory shortage like on CSR.

Did you know that new AX PT's come in silver boxes, wedges in a block of wood?

I found this out on my AX Ameriprise approval late last month. I got in before the renewal changed to $550 from $450 so I expect to fight them on that next year. First AF waived.

As soon as I put it in my wallet and sit down it will probably bend.

The $550 AF doesn't offer enough mitigation for me to justify the fee, especially with the significant overlap with my other high-AF card (CSR.)

Guess I'll have to live without that particular metal card.
