In other words the member since date is automatically added on the charge cards but optional or by request for the credit cards. Would that be a fair conclusion?

my co-worker applied for the card over the internet and it had the member since date on it he didn't request it, i figured if i called up and asked them to reissue my card then it would have the member since date on it, which it did so I'm assuming they just started adding as of the last few months. side question for anybody I hit my cash back upper tier in 6 weeks and have been charging between $3500-4500 a month on the cash card and the person I was in touch with at amex made it seem like I'm charging quite a bit. what do you think is the average charging range monthly for the cash card.

That's a good question. It would be interesting to know the average not just for the Blue Cash but for each of their cards. If you're spending $3,500 to $4,500 and that was considered a lot by the rep then we can guess the average must be less. The average is probably quite a bit lower because otherwise the rewards program on it would be a loser for Amex.

I wouldn't be surprised if the average monthly charges being made to the Gold were lower than to the Zync or Blue Cash.

my dad has the aqua costco/American express card and his member since is on the card, My friend has a starwood prefered guest and it's on the card.
All of there cards that are on there website have the member year on it.
But if you have Bank of america or Macys American express card the member year isn't on there cards.

call them and tell you want the date issued with the earlier year, they will do it with no problem.
