I used my AmEx at a local Pack and Ship store. I hope he qualifies as a small business because a $25- credit for that purchase would save me 50%.

Craig, I just checked mine after seeing this and the $25 credit showed up on my account too.

This is great let's cross our fingers this is done again next year.

Was anyone expecting this and did not have the credit posted today?

I used mine on December 4th and my credit showed up December 6th.

Awesome program from AmEx to promote small business!

As far as the social media experiment, they are definitely active on Facebook.

Frankly the direction of big businesses trying to be hip by using Facebook for their campaigns I find frustrating. I do not use Facebook due to privacy concerns and when American Express uses Facebook to host a promotion, there are many like myself that is a major inconvenience for. I would like to see this fad end sooner than later.

I thought the promotion only ran on October 27th. You received a $25 credit for making a purchase on December 6th?

Made a purchase on the 4th. They extended the deal, I registered my card after the 26th and everything.

The program has been extended through Dec 31. I used it a few days ago and just got the credit too.

That's a bit strange it was extended for such a long time. The promo is essentially giving away free money. It made sense for the marketing campaign (the pro small business message) and those commercials ended after that weekend. What was the benefit for American Express to continue giving away free money without the hype surrounding it?
