Lowes American Express card vs. Lowes regular card?

Postby BLD » Tue Nov 02, 2010 1:39 pm

I hear their regular credit card is nothing but problems. Now I see there’s a Lowes American Express card. I have a business and get a lot at Lowes.

Restaurants, office supplies and wireless get 3 points
Lowes gets 2 points
Everything else gets 1 point
No annual fee

Sounds damn good to me but is the Lowes American Express customer service handled through American Express or through GE Money like the other Lowes card?

I haven't heard of the Lowes American Express but Googled it and sure enough there is one. This must be new. Do you know how long it has been out?

To answer your question from the looks of the official site, it appears to be a real American Express card that is issued and managed by Amex.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed and linked to. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.

Current Cards:
American Express: Blue Cash, Simply Cash Bank of America: WorldPoints Platinum Plus Chase: Amazon, British Airways, Cash Plus Rewards, Freedom, Ink Cash Citi: Thank You Premier, Dividend Platinum Select Discover: More
Primary Everyday Card: American Express Blue Cash
Primary Travel Card: Chase Sapphire Preferred

Based on this Press Release by AmEx [ American Express OPEN® and Lowe's Launch New Credit Card for Small Business Owners ] I would be led to believe any and every issue you may have, any customer service concerns would all be through AmEx. Give them a call to confirm but it seems to be all AmEx you would deal with.

A more lucrative option over the Lowes American Express card would be the Chase Ink Cash. It gives a higher 3% rebate on home improvement, instead of the 2 points offered on the Lowes Amex. To learn more about it visit our sponsored best business credit cards section

Thanks for the info everyone this forum is great. I had no clue there was a business credit card that gave 3% on home improvement. That would be even sweeter than the Lowes American Express. Thanks for the help!
