Welcome to the forum! Which American Express card(s) did you apply for?
From my experience the easiest one to get
is the Gold version of the Delta SkyMiles. Although it is not specifically for bad credit (no American Express is) there have been numerous reports on our forum of applicants getting approved with little credit history and below average credit history. I hear more people having success with getting approved for that versus any other American Express card. I regularly hear from people with FICOs in the mid to high 600's getting approved.

for more info. But if you have "bad" credit you're not going to get it.If you have less than a 650 credit score
and/or bankruptcy in the last 7 years and/or charged-off accounts within the past 3 years) then you probably won't get approved for the aforementioned card. Instead I would make this your game plan:
- Step 1: Increase the number of unsecured cards you have. Build it up so you have at least 3-5 credit card accounts in good standing. Here are some good entry-level unsecured cards to consider.
- Step 2: Manage them for 6-12 months, always paying on time and carrying no long term balances.
- Step 3: Then try applying for the Delta Gold.
