The service is the main reason Ive kept it all along anyway

I place the majority of my spend elsewhere and don't travel much thereby limiting the appeal of the CSR

So what do you have the Platinum card for then? I don't get it.
Amex - BCP, Platinum, Business Gold
BoA - BankAmericard Cash Rewards
Chase - Freedom, CSP, RC, Ink Plus
Citi - DC, Prestige
Discover - It

- $200 airline fee credit (I don't travel much but I am able to utilize this fully thereby dropping the AF of the card to $250 for me)
- Centurion Lounge access (my home airport does have a Centurion lounge. I don't care for it but my wife loves it)
- Global Entry Credit (I don't travel much but I really like TSA Precheck. Drops AF of the card to $230 for me)
- Amex service. So essentially I use it for transactions where I have concerns I'll need Amex to intervene on my behalf. Examples from the last month alone include:

Online vendor where I've had multiple issues with faulty billing
Recent switch to a car insurance company that I'm not as familiar with (Mapfre)
Deposit on car from a dealership that is new to me
Gift card from a company that has consistently failed to deliver gift cards to me on time (one call to Amex and the transaction is voided)
Purchase of furniture for extended warranty benefits
Purchase of expensive baby equipment and furniture from a less than reputable vendor for extended warranty benefits and purchase protection

Probably stupid (and I'm sure I would get similar service from Amex from one of their cheaper AF cards) to keep the card for this reason alone but thus far, it has saved me more than $230/year which is why I haven't closed it yet.
- Amex Platinum (primary)
- Citi Double Cash (backup)
- Chase Sapphire Reserve (just to get the bonus, closing in 2017)

While going through the middle of my Amex Platinum application nightmare, I did some research for comparable cards.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve does everything the Amex platinum does. You get 100k points if you spend 3k in the first 4 months. Priority pass, etc.

I wish I wouldn't have even wasted time with the Amex.

You got it twisted, honey child.

It's 4K/3mos. The C$R was my miracle baby. I applied under the leaked link and ended up getting approved back in August despite likely being at least 30/24.

The Plat has its own distinct set of benefits too, however.

CSR won't get you a Centurion card though...I heard that's your goal.

$4k/3mo, there you go. What benefits does the Amex platinum have over the csr? I cant find any meaningful differences.

That was the only reason I considered the Amex platinum. I was fine without it, I'll continue to be fine without it.

Centurion and Delta lounges, which I personally find more useful than Priority Pass.
SPG/Marriott and Hilton elite status (good enough for potential complimentary room upgrades)
Fine Hotels and Resorts (special deals at some premium hotels)
Wallet: Prestige CSP SchwabPlat Freedom It Hyatt SallieMae AAPlat
SD: Arrival BrooksBros BCE ED IHG
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when
