I don't think they closed the account. I think they said they may close them or even they may close them if there is another chargeback. Not sure.

Also, we don't know anything about the account history...these could be the only charges that were ever on the account. We also don't know if the OP disputed the "appropriate" portion of the charge or the entire charge.

Either way, the OP agreed to pay for those charges when they paid for them. While I would be agitated with the situations described, paying and moving on to file a dispute for $25 against a restaurant is a waste of time and a non starter in my opinion...
Amex - BCP, Platinum, Business Gold
BoA - BankAmericard Cash Rewards
Chase - Freedom, CSP, RC, Ink Plus
Citi - DC, Prestige
Discover - It

Agreed. Both of the situations are unfortunate/annoying, but not really grounds for fighting. You've already paid for the items.

I would probably just move on with my life vs pursuing the matters any further, since they are small charges.

Exactly that. i know they haven't closed it yet, but to get a letter threatening to do so still makes me think there is more going on here. that's why i wanted to try and dig a little deeper.

If I felt I had gotten screwed which has only happened a few times over many years then I would dispute. For example if I was charged but the merchant flat out did not and would not supply what I.paid for. This has happened once. I would fight that battle regardless of what they do just on principle.

But you have to think there is more to this.
