Screwed up signup bonus?

Hi All,
Last November I applied for a Business Gold Amex, my business is a sole-proprietor LLC, so basically same SSN.
Apparently when I signed up, I didn't get a bonus, I called in and they gave me 1000 rewards points just out of courtesy. I didn't really care much, I basically just wanted a CC for my business to keep expenses separated from my personal.

Fast forward to yesterday, I applied online for the Premier Rewards Gold for personal use, there was a 50k point offer so I took it. I got approved. However in the email I received it said "...thanks for chosing American express Again". I registered a new online account for my new personal CC (again I like to keep separate accounts between my personal and business). Once I logged in to my personal online account I noticed that it says my membership rewards are shared between two cards and I have my 1000 points I got from my business card...

So, did I screw up my bonus? Does Amex consider me as already having the product so they won't give me the signup bonus? Does anyone know if there is a way to check online what bonus awards my account is participating? I'll probably call amex during the week and ask them, I'm really considering closing my accounts if I don't get ANY sign up points and maybe applying later in the year. I just don't want to have so many hard pulls on my credit report so close.

Did they explain why you didn't get the bonus on the card for your business? I just wonder if perhaps you didn't meet the spending requirement because that is odd not to get a bonus on the card.

I don't have any experience with their business cards, but Membership Rewards have an account specific to the person, not the card. The cardholder has a Membership Rewards account (you should be able to find the separate account number in the rewards section of your Business Gold card's statements), and all MR-earning cards feed points into the one account. I would assume this is what is happening on your account: Amex has recognized that you already have a Membership Rewards account established and has automatically linked the cards to this account.

The Business Gold Rewards Card and PRG are separate products, so you shouldn't have any trouble getting the bonus (assuming you meet the $1,000 spending requirement in the first 3 months). The only time you shouldn't get a bonus on a new account is if it's for a product you've had before (so if you were to close this and apply for a PRG again later in the year, you wouldn't get the bonus), but as long as it is a new product (even a different type of charge card) you should get the bonus. I would call and talk to a CSR just to be safe; they should be able to tell you that your card will receive the bonus once the requirement is met.

No idea on eligibility of sign up bonus but the Business Gold and the PRG are not the same product.

If you want to confirm then call AmEx. We can speculate all you want but what we say doesn't really matter. It's what AmEx says that does.

Maybe I'm just overlooking this tiny detail, but have you met the spending requirement to get the sign-up bonus? You don't get the bonus for simply applying and getting approved...
