Did they explain why you didn't get the bonus on the card for your business? I just wonder if perhaps you didn't meet the spending requirement because that is odd not to get a bonus on the card.
I don't have any experience with their business cards, but Membership Rewards have an account specific to the person, not the card. The cardholder has a Membership Rewards account (you should be able to find the separate account number in the rewards section of your Business Gold card's statements), and all MR-earning cards feed points into the one account. I would assume this is what is happening on your account: Amex has recognized that you already have a Membership Rewards account established and has automatically linked the cards to this account.
The Business Gold Rewards Card and PRG are separate products, so you shouldn't have any trouble getting the bonus (assuming you meet the $1,000 spending requirement in the first 3 months). The only time you shouldn't get a bonus on a new account is if it's for a product you've had before (so if you were to close this and apply for a PRG again later in the year, you wouldn't get the bonus), but as long as it is a new product (even a different type of charge card) you should get the bonus. I would call and talk to a CSR just to be safe; they should be able to tell you that your card will receive the bonus once the requirement is met.
