Amex Offers and Authorized Users

Postby augiedog » Fri Dec 11, 2015 4:16 pm

I have my mom added as an authorized user on my Blue Cash and my Everyday. As I glanced through her online account, I noticed an offer for Amex Gift Cards that I did not have. There were also offers that I had already redeemed myself but are showing up on her account as unused.

Does anyone have experience with redeeming offers on an authorized user account? I used the gift card offer and she received a confirmation email, but no statement credit (yet). Ultimately my question would be...

Does anyone know if I could double up on an offer (such as at Whole Foods) by using an authorized user's card?

I don't know explicitly but I do believe the answer is yes. There's only one best way to find out...

My AU has redeemed a few offers but not any I also redeemed. But I think if it's there, it will work.

The answer is yes. Any amex card I sign up for, I always add my family members as authorized users, even if I don't plan on having them use it as an everyday card. I add them in case a good offer pops up, I can maximize the number of times I can use the offer.
Also, as you may have already noticed, even though you're the account holder, some offers may be targeted so your mom may get a good offer only available to her, while you get nothing.

It was a success! I was able to redeem the Amex Gift Card offer twice by using an authorized user's card

This is good and bad. I always assumed offers I added to my card could be redeemed by any AU.

Do I have to have a separate login for my AU or can I bring their card into my login to see what offers are available?

Yes, you do need one. I help my mom with banking online and that's why I saw the offer (which I didn't have on my card until I used the offer from twitter).
