Is it possible? Yes. Is it guaranteed? No. When you make 2 applications, there are always 2 hard pulls possible on any given report. So while Amex may well do both apps for one pull, no one can definitively say that they will.

The better way to go about this is to apply for the Credit card first, then call and talk to a real human to apply for the Charge card. This way it is almost guaranteed that you can have them use the same HP. If you're unsure, just ask them if they can use the HP from your previous application. You even have up to 30 days to apply for the charge card with the same HP.

Just an FYI, the Senior cards, Gold and Green, are no longer available. That program has been discontinued. When my Gold card was approaching renewal date, I called and asked about downgrading and was told that the Senior card program was not offered. Since AMEX can sometimes give erroneous information, I went on line with a chat session and was told the same thing. And finally, called a 2nd time, on a different date, to make absolutely sure and again was told it was not available. So, with 3 different CSRs telling me that, I am presuming they are correct.

The lowest AMEX charge card AF is the $25 that continues for the Zync.

Is the annual fee waived for the first year on the Platinum? If it is not waived, then how are you talking about avoiding the AF? Don't they tack that annual fee on to the account as soon as the card is shipped. At least that is how it worked on my Ritz. The day the card shipped, I logged into my Chase account to find that the Ritz had charged a big fat $395 "Annual Membership Fee" before I had ever even received the card.

AmEx ED: $4500 (02/15)
AmEx PRG: NPSL (02/15)
AmEx SPG: $2000 (06/15)
Capital One QS: $3250 (02/13)
Marriott: $5000 (01/16)
Ritz Carlton: $13,500 (09/15)
TCL: $34,750 (Some not shown above)
