I dropped the hammer on Platinum and SPG last night late and went straight to pending.

Email this morning says approved for Platinum, but no word on SPG....Status site says declined (probably for exposure as I have 25.5K with them over two other revolvers)

Citi AA Business Platinum was a big fat no, Reconsideration by phone is almost as useless as Cap One chat. :beat:

Well, I'm glad you got Platinum.

When does your wife's 4% Discover promo end? I assume you're an AU on that.

It would seem to make SPG unexciting until then. Or are you expecting the 30k promo to go back to 25k soon? I kind of got the impression that 30k might be the new standard offer with the higher AF.

30K is definitely limited time. I won't see it again for a year at least.. (Yeah, my scores will likely be 50-60pts higher by then but still)

Yeah 4% Disco I am an AU on with regular extra spend offers. I still want that Citi AA and will write a letter for it. AX is reviewing the SPG again and I will pursue further if they decline a second time.

I've thought about SPG for the bonus, but with 3 Amex and 3 Chase cards, I need to be very selective about any new credit from them. I don't want to be labeled a churner/bonus hunter and face any AA since I plan to keep all 6 cards (except maybe PRG).

I might do some bonus hunting with Citi and Barclaycard.

Are there any issuers that still don't get too bothered about card accounts (with a big signup bonus, an AF, and not much spending in excess of minimum spend) being closed near the end of month 12 or 24 (to dodge AF), and will issue more big-bonus cards to such customers?
